THIS PMU MARE has a life expectancy of 10 years or less.  She's pregnant, and once she's given birth to her foal, she will be impregnated again and placed back on machines that collect her urine for use by  the pharmaceutical industry.

UNFORTUNATELY, SHE'S NOT THE ONLY ONE.  THESE ARE JUST A FEW, HOUSED IN ONE OF OVER 70 PMU (PREgnantMAReuRIN - AKA PREMARIN) farms operating in Canada and the United States.  THESE MARES SUFFER day after day in deplorable conditions, with very little - if any - exercise.

The by-product of this drug, used to treat menopausal symptoms in woman and osteoporosis, are their foals.

  PREMARIN, PREMPRO, PREMPAK and PREMPHASE are widely prescribed to women by doctors all over the world, even though there are plant-derivitives and artificial hormones available.  Doctors prescribe the drug either because they don't know where it comes from, how it's developed, or because they are indifferent to the impact it has.  One must ask, what happens to  these  young, often motherless, foals?
