Meet Lonesome George.
Researchers believe that George is the last surviving Pinta Tortoise, native to Pinta Island of the Galapogos. George's age is not known, but he is predicted to be about 90 years old. He was discovered in 1971 and has lived at the Charles Darwin Research Station (CDRS) located on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos, Ecuador ever since. It's absolutely unconscionable that Norway would allow one wolf a year to be "culled" from their critically endangered wolf population of less than 10 wolves... yet that's the reality.
